Denver Sailing Association typically hosts two weekend long regattas a year at Cherry Creek Reservoir.

Regattas include racing, breakfasts and dinner, and awards. Fun activities, educational sailing talks, and other activities may occur through out the weekend.

Rocky Mountain Shootout/Hornblower Regatta

The Rocky Mountain Shootout/Hornblower Regatta is one of the Colorado’s most exciting spring season opening events. Races are managed by well trained and experienced Race Officers on one or more courses at our race venue, Cherry Creek Reservoir.

The Shootout Regatta is open to self-righting (keelboat) class boats. Keelboat classes include J/24, Santana-20, and at least one PHRF class.

The Hornblower Regatta is open to non-self-righting (dinghy) class boats. Classes include Lightning, Laser, and at least one Portsmouth class.

SAIL Colorado Governor's Cup Regatta

The Sailing Association of Inter-mountain Lakes (SAIL) chooses a Colorado yacht club every year to host their Colorado Governor’s Cup Regatta. This regatta is attended by sailors from all over the state.

DSA regularly hosts this event at our home waters, Cherry Creek Reservoir.
