2026 Team Racing Series

Preamble

Denver Sailing Association (DSA) will be hosting a simplified Team Racing series on select Wednesday evenings in the 2026 sailing season. The club is excited to bring this format of racing to Colorado and hopes it provides exciting racing and learning opportunities. This will be our first year hosting this series, so please bear with us as we also learn to organize these events. To even the playing field, we ask that each team only include one sailor with advanced skills (i.e. individuals with the last name Robinson, Abisambra, and Avery).

Series Format

The event is a 3-boat against 3-boat team race.

The series will be a round robin format with each team competing against another team at least once. The winning team of a race will earn +1 point in the Series standings. The losing team will earn 0 points in the Series standings. A disqualified team will earn -1 point in the Series standings. The team with the most points will be declared the winner. If multiple teams have the most points after the round robin, those tied teams will race against one another as a tie breaker.

Registration

Teams must be made up of three (3) sailors to be on three (3) laser boats.

DSA 2026 Admiral, Flag, Honorary, or Junior Membership is required of all team members at time of registration.

Teams must be registered by April 30, 2026.

If there are less than 3 teams registered for a series, then the series will not occur.
